There were three flags in front of the provincial government building: The provincial, a national flag and the European flag. This last one was upside down unfortunately. This was mentioned to the employees at the reception, who reacted very positively, in spite of the late hour. The hadn't realized that one could hoist the flag incorrectly. Using a euro banknote this was easily explained, as the note has a clear representation of the stars. As a token of gratitude an exclusive tour of the impressive building was offered. The flag-situation has been personally rectified, with permission off course.
Since that time the flag flies correctly.
At the provincial government building, of the province of Zuid Holland in the Hague, there were two EU-flags at different sides of the building. Both were in the correct position. The location will be revisited to exclude the possibility of coincidental correct use.
